Many children who make aliyah (immigration to Israel) tell our Fellowship family that adjusting to life in a new country can be difficult.

The skies have been filled with Fellowship Freedom Flights—some carrying olim (immigrants to Israel) from disaster and danger zones that have become too dangerous to call home, while others bring Jews who are fulfilling a lifelong dream of returning to Israel.

IFCJ Canada is deeply saddened to confirm that one of the victims was 79-year-old Lyudmyla, a beneficiary of our poverty programs in Ukraine. 

Our Fellowship family in Israel is participating in a national initiative to provide food and financial support to individuals and families facing poverty. For some of the people IFCJ Canada has helped through this initiative, life can change in the blink of an eye.

This week, The Fellowship received letters of thanks from people we have helped. Through the support of our generous donors, we are able to make a difference for olim (immigrants to Israel), families, and even entire Jewish communities in need. 

Toward the end of May, northern Israeli communities experienced the largest surge in attacks from across the border since terrorist groups in Lebanon joined Iran in the war.

Last week, just days before Shavuot, our Fellowship family in Israel traveled to Haifa to deliver special holiday packages to elderly beneficiaries who are also Holocaust survivors.

During the war with Iran, our fellowship family in Israel spoke with many people across Israel whom we have helped during this time of conflict. One of the reasons our efforts are so successful is that  we  support programs focused on poverty relief across Israel.

The first aliyah (immigration to Israel) flight for the Bnei Menashe community in India arrived in Israel on April 23, bringing 232 descendants of the displaced Hebrew tribe back to their biblical homeland. Four days later, the second Freedom Flight arrived, both, generously sponsored by our sister organization, IFCJ U.S.. 

Because of your compassion, thousands of elderly Jews and vulnerable families were able to celebrate Passover with dignity this year. 

In Israel, there is a week each year when the entire country takes a breath. It seems to be a week of contradictions – at first, the air feels heavier, the streets quieter, and every family carries a story close to the heart.
