Prayer Points “Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord” (Psalm 31:24). In an uncertain and chaotic world, we turn our hearts to God, trusting that His Word and promises are eternal—a light that will overcome the darkness. With events unfolding rapidly in Israel and around the world, let us pray that God’s promises will be fulfilled, and that His light will continue to shine upon His people and all those who bless them. Following a tragic shooting in the Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood of Montreal, Chabad Rabbi Michael Moshe Mizrachi and police officer Mohamed Lamine Benredouane were killed. We pray for peace and comfort for their families as they mourn their loss. “The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot” (Proverbs 10:7). Northern communities in Israel remain vulnerable to rocket fire and targeted violence. As these communities continue to face danger, we pray that the ceasefire will hold. We also lift up families, the elderly, and young children—those most vulnerable—asking that God would continue to protect them.. “Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore He will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him!” (Isaiah 30:18). Many Israelis are facing economic hardship after years of war, with one in three reporting a loss of income. As IFCJ Canada continues to provide critical financial assistance, we pray for God’s people who are enduring these difficult circumstances. May they know they are not forgotten, and may they experience restoration. “The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor” (Proverbs 22:9). As we celebrated Father’s Day recently, we pray for and celebrate the men who have answered the calling of fatherhood and helped shape the hearts and minds of those who will impact the world for generations. “Honour your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you” (Exodus 20:12).
