Israel Crisis Response Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.” Psalms 122:6-7 Update: May 8, 2026 As ceasefire arrangements begin to take hold, many emergency restrictions have lifted, allowing public transportation, schools, and businesses to reopen. We continue to pray and provide support for those still living in communities vulnerable to conflict, while also maintaining our regular humanitarian programs. Emergency Update: April 22, 2026 Since the beginning of this war: More than 7,000 people have been injured. More than 20 people have been killed. While a fragile ceasefire remains in effect, northern communities continue to face regular threats from ongoing conflict. Although many regions have experienced a measure of calm during this temporary pause, residents in the north are still spending time in shelters as violence continues. Please continue to pray with us for the elderly, children, and families facing uncertainty and displacement. Emergency Update: Passover Support Distribution – April 7, 2026 After 39 days of war: More than 6,818 people have been evacuated from their homes due to the missile strikes. 2,537 people are staying in hotels while 3,581 are staying with family and friends. Over 43 areas have been evacuated across the North, centre, and southern regions. Kiryat Shmona has been one of the hardest-hit cities, located along Israel’s northern border with Lebanon and facing ongoing shelling. Many families, including elderly residents — have been forced to spend long days and nights in protective shelters. During Passover, hardship was especially acute for families living under ongoing threat, many of whom lacked the resources to prepare for the holiday safely or with dignity. In response, IFCJ Canada supported Passover assistance for more than 2,300 families in Israel — reaching over 9,000 individuals — helping vulnerable households celebrate the holiday with dignity, nourishment, and care. This support was part of IFCJ Canada’s ongoing food assistance efforts, which extend well beyond the holiday season. Each day, more than 3,000 elderly individuals — including Holocaust survivors, those who are homebound, and individuals living with disabilities — receive hot meals, while more than 6,700 at‑risk individuals receive fresh fruits and vegetables each week, helping ensure consistent access to nutritious food amid ongoing instability. As the situation continues to unfold, families across Israel need faithful support. Give them this support today. DONATE NOW Emergency Update: Passover Support In The North – March 25, 2026 Iran continues to carry out intense missile attacks targeting the Tel Aviv metropolitan area, the center of the country, Jerusalem, and the north. The rate of missile launches remained intense. In the North, there is often only a brief short window of time (15 to 90 seconds) between the siren alarm and the hit of the missile due to the shelling coming from only a few miles away in Lebanon. Many families, and elderly residents on the northern border are spending long hours in shelters, both day and night. For the past 21 days, daycares, schools, and other educational institutions have remained closed, leading many to work from home to care for their children, and avoid unsafe travel. Inbound and outbound flights to Israel have resumed, with priority given to humanitarian travel. To Date: More than 4,414 have been injured. 17 people have been killed. More than 3,564 people have been evacuated from homes and apartments destroyed by missile strikes. 2,049 are sheltering in hotels, while 1,515 are staying with family and friends. 34 area evacuations have taken place across Israel – the center, north, and south regions. The people of Israel are experiencing severe economic, physical, and mental stress due to the state of this war. The need for immediate help is ongoing as more families and elderly face displacement and a shortage of basic resources. This hardship is especially difficult with the Passover season approaching. To help meet the growing needs in the North, IFCJ Canada along with our global affiliates will provide 1,000 food and clothing vouchers to help those most vulnerable observe the Passover with dignity. IFCJ Canada continues to provide purchase cards for families, cooked meals for Holocaust survivors, elderly support, aid for Olim (immigrants), and ongoing emergency relief. DONATE NOW Emergency Update: Ongoing Attacks Across Israel – March 10, 2026 Numerous strikes on Israel have kept it’s residents in a constant state of alert, as Iran continues to launch attacks targeting the Tel Aviv metropolitan area, the center of the country, Jerusalem, and the north. In the north, Hezbollah continued launching hundreds of rockets and drones targeting cities and villages, hitting civilian homes, leading to more injuries and evacuees from the north. The residents of these communities spend long hours during the day and nights in shelters because there is not enough warning time to go to shelters, as shelling is done from a few miles away. To Date: More than 1,950 people have been injured 13 people have been killed More than 3,420 have evacuated from homes and apartments destroyed by missile attacks. Over 20 places have suffered evacuations During this difficult time, we continue to respond by providing food packages, food cards for families whose homes have been damaged, support for evacuees, daily cooked meals for Holocaust survivors and the elderly, assistance for olim (new immigrants), and other critical emergency aid. You can help ensure that none of God’s children are left behind or forgotten. Please consider giving an emergency gift today. DONATE NOW Emergency Update: Israel on High Alert – March 3, 2026 Early Monday morning, terrorist groups in Lebanon escalated the conflict by launching rockets and drones into Israel, sending sirens blaring across communities in northern Israel. Direct missile strikes have displaced an estimated 300 people so far. This number does not yet include evacuees from Beit Shemesh, where residents are still being accounted for following recent attacks. As of Monday, emergency food cards are being distributed to displaced families during the critical first 48 hours. These cards will allow evacuees to purchase essential items such as clothing, toiletries, and other urgent necessities as they begin the difficult process of relocation and recovery. We continue to monitor the situation closely and are working to ensure that vulnerable families, including children and the elderly, receive immediate and practical support during this time of upheaval. DONATE NOW Emergency Update: Israel on High Alert – March 1, 2026 Early this morning an Iranian missile struck the city of Beit Shemesh, killing 9 and injuring 28 more. Our prayers are with the families of those killed, the injured, and the first responders who are working tirelessly to protect the people of the Holy Land. DONATE NOW Emergency Update: Israel on High Alert – February 28, 2026 The situation in Israel is tense and rapidly evolving. Recent reports indicate the U.S. and Israel have struck against Iran to prevent potential nuclear and missile threats. In response, Iran has retaliated, targeting Israel’s communities through long-range missiles and coordinated attacks. Israelis have been living with both courage and vigilance. Families have prepared for emergencies, and are now sheltering in place. The Canadian prime minister has also asked Canadians in Israel to shelter in place.
