Israel Crisis Response

On October 7, 2023, Hamas launched a massive attack on Israel… now on April 13th Iran has directly targeted Israel with drone and missile attacks. The need to help the people of Israel has never been greater. Fellowship staff and volunteers are on the ground in Israel helping as we speak with immediate and ongoing needs.

We urgently need your help in this time of crisis.

Since the start of the Hamas invasion, 1,200 Israelis have been killed and over 200 Israeli civilians (including children and elderly) have been taken hostage*. Entire communities were left in ruins. October 7, 2023, is now tragically marked as the deadliest day in Jewish history since the Holocaust.

Support those that have survived as they endure the effects of a second attack from Iran. The people in Israel need you now more than ever.

Your gift today can help us provide the much-needed resources to Jews who depend on us for critical humanitarian aid.

The Fellowship’s Impact

The Fellowship is assessing needs daily, as we are receiving an overwhelming number of requests for aid. Our initial focus will be delivering aid to three populations hardest-hit by this crisis:

  • Evacuees from war-torn areas, who were forced to leave their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs
  • First responders and volunteers who are in need of medical equipment as well as basic supplies like food and water
  • Elderly beneficiaries, families, and new olim (immigrants), who need necessities like food, water, medical aid, and psychological counseling to deal with trauma

In total, The Fellowship has globally allocated and distributed more than $12 million in emergency aid to communities and residents in regions of Israel most heavily affected by the devastating terror attacks.

Families

  • The Fellowship has set up an Emergency Response Centre in Ramle, where local authorities are helping families locate their loved ones
  • Fellowship volunteers are delivering basic necessities like food and water for children in Sderot and Netivot who have been forced to stay in their bomb shelters since Saturday
  • Distribution of gifts cards valued at approx. $1,725 CAD each for the purchase of clothing, shoes, hygienic products, and other basic necessities to families evacuated from the southern areas hardest hit by the conflict

Aid

  • We’re providing thousands of meals for elderly in the city of Netivot
  • We’re providing clothing, food, and transportation for the city of Be’er Sheva
  • Mobile units are supplying food, water, and a listening ear for those seeking information on their missing loved ones
  • We’re providing aid to communities on the Gaza border to address immediate critical needs such as food, medication, transportation, and therapy services

*Numbers are reported from April 14, 2024 and are subject to change.
