Our Response to Terror in Australia – Bringing Light to the World IFCJ Canada | December 14, 2025 Photo: JDC On Hanukkah, we are called to bring light over darkness. Darkness isn’t just from the days of old – it’s happening today. And we are called to bring Hineni, which in Hebrew means: Here I Am! It means we have to be willing to do what’s hard and what’s right. On Hanukkah, we are not meant to light the Menorah in the secrecy of our homes. We do it by the window. To show the world. As we witness what’s happening around the world in Australia, America, Canada, Europe, and Israel — it’s all very connected. We cannot be afraid to bring our faith to the forefront. That’s one of the driving forces of The Fellowship. In moments like these, our response is rooted in faith, prayer, and a shared commitment to stand against darkness with light. This is the work we do, thanks to hundreds of thousands of Christians and Jews standing together, united in the belief that we are called to bring light to the world, remembering the words of the Psalmist: “You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light” (Psalm 18:28)
