When we met with sweet 74-year-old Ella, she first showed us her necklace which holds a meaningful photo of two of her adult children who were murdered on October 7, 2023.

“I have no more tears to cry from sorrow,” this elderly mother says. On this tragic day, Israelis lost so much, and Ella feels she lost everything. “Nobody was there to save them,” she adds.

Her children were visiting for the special Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah, which is supposed to be a celebration of the Torah and God’s Word and a day surrounded by family. But instead, it was a day filled with horror and fear.

On that dark day, as sirens sounded, Ella and her family tried to seek safety outside in a bomb shelter. But on the way to a shelter, two children were shot by terrorists before they could take cover.

Ella made it to shelter, but, in this moment, she was already broken with grief.

When Fellowship volunteers visited sweet Ella, all we could do was listen to her tell her story and try to provide some comfort and care to a hurting elderly woman.

This is why food deliveries and providing critical necessities, especially now, in Israel is so important to elderly like Ella, as well as providing a listening ear and someone to tell their story.

Your gift today will help provide basic needs and lifesaving help for God’s children, like Ella, in Israel and around the world.
