(Photo: courtesy of family) Rachel Goldberg-Polin and Jon Polin are dedicating themselves to spreading goodness in the wake of their son Hersh’s abduction into Gaza. Instead of feeling defeated by the tragedies of October 7th and the anxiety of not knowing the well-being of their son, the Polin’s decided to be proactive in creating the goodness they want to see in the world. They are relying on the strength of their community—and now the global community—to keep holding onto light by launching “The Week of Goodness” campaign. The Jerusalem Post tells us more: “We’ve been running around for 282 days, meeting leaders, influencers, and politicians. A week ago, we were sitting around and decided it was enough,” Jon Polin told the Post on July 14 at the opening event in Jerusalem. “We just need to do more good in the world, and bam, that was it.” The various acts of goodness include donating a Sefer Torah, religious study, communal singing, volunteer opportunities, and separating challah (Hafrashat challah). “
