A Fellowship supported soup kitchen in Kiryat Shmona was hit on Sunday from Hezbollah attacks. Thankfully, there were no injuries, and the missile did not detonate inside, so the soup kitchen hopes to continue operating with the Fellowship’s help.

This soup kitchen serves a community that’s mostly evacuated except for the weakest, sickest, most vulnerable who stayed behind. Rabbi Tzipori, manager of the soup kitchen says:

“This morning, as every morning since the beginning of the war, we opened the kitchen for cooking for the elderly who remained in the city. This morning there was heightened alert in the city, and we did not have permission to go out with the car to distribute the food. It wasn’t until 11am that we got the approval and the vehicle with the food left for distribution. Because of the late departure, the distribution vehicle was still distributing food in the city and didn’t return to the soup kitchen.

At [around 1:30pm] there was a large barrage of rockets into the city. Our cook was still in the kitchen, preparing things for tomorrow’s distribution. When he heard the explosions, he entered the shelter.

A few seconds later one of the missiles directly hit our building. I hope that soon they will reconnect the electricity so that the food we keep in the freezers does not spoil. This attack won’t deter us; tomorrow morning, we’ll resume cooking and distributing food to all the people in the city who depend on us.”

Other buildings were hit by the rockets with at least two wounded in Kiryat Shmona, reports The Jerusalem Post:

…The rockets hit several buildings throughout the city and an intensive care ambulance belonging to Magen David Adom, according to emergency services. Power outages were reported in the city as well, according to the Electric Company. Local residents told Israeli media that the rockets began falling on the city before the sirens went off.
