Lifesaving Help for Needy Jews

Igor doesn’t like seeing his mother stand in the middle of their dilapidated kitchen, next to an almost empty fridge, as she tries to prepare dinner with the little food they can afford. He wishes the family had more, but they live in extreme poverty. The doors to their apartment are broken, the wallpaper is peeling, and the gas stove barely works.

While 14-year-old Igor has two older siblings, they’ve already moved out. Both Igor and his mother share an apartment with Igor’s uncle, who has disabilities and cannot live on his own.

Igor’s mother receives two small state pensions: one for caring for her disabled brother and one for being a single parent. But both pensions combined are still not enough to live off of, so the family relies on The Fellowship for support. Just before winter, The Fellowship bought a new pair of boots for Igor to replace the ones he outgrew.

For Igor, every dollar helps. Thanks to our High Holy Days Outreach, The Fellowship also provides his family with a monthly bank card for food and medicine.

Igor now walks into his kitchen to see his mother making dinner with enough food to feed the family, and he feels very blessed by The Fellowship.

Please help provide impoverished families in the former Soviet Union like Igor’s with food for dinner, and support our High Holy Days Outreach today.
