“I Was Always Hungry”

Sofia

“People ate clay and grass,” Sonya recalled, as she sobbed at the horror she cannot erase from her memory. “Others boiled leather and ate it. I was always hungry...”

Sonya was just 11 years old when her family fled to Stalingrad (now Volgograd) to escape the Nazi killers. But the Nazis blockaded the city to cut off all supplies, including food.

“People ate clay and grass,” Sonya recalled, as she sobbed at the horror she cannot erase from her memory. “Others boiled leather and ate it. I was always hungry, but the Soviets put the children in camps and made us work every day.”

Thankfully, you are helping feed Sonya through your support of our Isaiah 58 ministry outreach! However, the needs are so great among desperately poor Jews in the former Soviet Union that we need your help sustaining this ministry to "the least of these."

There is no greater blessing than joining in a work that is close to the heart of God!

Please answer this special call with a gift today for ongoing care to those like Sonya, and to war refugees, who are facing impossible conditions with little or no resources.

Give as God leads you to give – when you do, you will surely be blessed by caring for others. "If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry... the LORD will guide you always" (Isaiah 58:10-11).

May God bless you!

Please give today
