Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein

Savoring Warm Company and a Hot Meal

Since Aharon became a widower, he has been attending a Fellowship-funded soup kitchen daily, always arriving at 11:00 a.m. Sitting in his regular place, Aharon will come rain or shine; nothing can keep him from this “warm community”.

After his wife’s death, Aharon tried to buy his own groceries, carry them home, cook, and clean up after himself – but on a few occasions he almost burned down the house when he forgot to turn off the stove. He calls the day he learned about the Fellowship-funded soup kitchen “miraculous.”

When Aharon arrives, he greets everyone he meets with a warm smile and a kind word. To Aharon the soup kitchen is more than a warm, nutritious meal – it’s a place where he is among friends and people he knows who care about him.

Each day, Aharon expresses his gratitude to The Fellowship-funded soup kitchen for providing him with food and companionship, which is made possible by you, our caring partners in Canada.

When you give to Guardians of Israel, you help feed thousands of elderly people through meals on wheels programs, soup kitchens, and food distribution services.

And please prayerfully consider becoming a Friend of the Fellowship monthly donor. For only $34 a month – just $1.13 a day – you can provide one hot meal a day for an elderly Jew, like Aharon.
