Help Us Lift Up Israel and the Jewish People In Prayer

The Fellowship Prayer Team unites Jews and Christians around the world to raise a chorus of prayer to God for the security, well-being, and protection of Israel and the Jewish people. By appealing to God on behalf of his children, the Prayer Team will make a powerful, positive impact on Israel's struggle for peace and security, and provide a tremendous source of encouragement to Israel and her people. Next week Jews celebrate Tu B’Shvat, a holiday also known as the New Year of the Trees. As Jews throughout the world eat fruit and plant trees to commemorate this day, they also offer praise for the land of Israel – “A land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey” (Deuteronomy 8:8). This week we join with them in thanking God for the Holy Land, and for the beauty of His creation the world over.

  • Praise God for the splendor of His Holy Land and for providing us with a world that is a feast for our tables and our eyes. “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory” (Isaiah 6:3).
  • On the heels of International Holocaust Remembrance Day last Friday, pray for Holocaust survivors around the globe, many of whom now face the threats of poverty, hunger, and isolation. “Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the Lord” (Leviticus 19:32).
  • Pray for Prime Minister Netanyahu and the rest of Israel's leadership, that God will grant them wisdom, discernment, and insight into how to establish peace for their country. "To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his" (Job 12:13).
  • Pray that those being served by The Fellowship’s countless programs throughout Israel and other parts of the world will receive the help they need and the encouragement of knowing that they are cared for by Christians and Jews in Canada. “Comfort, comfort my people, says your God” (Isaiah 40:1).
  • Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. "May those who love you be secure" (Psalm 122:6).
