Pat Robertson — A Dear Friend

It’s nice to know where my Abba, my father Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, is right now. I’m confident that he’s standing at the gates of heaven, welcoming in his dear friend, Pat Robertson.

Pat Robertson changed history in so many ways. But for me, it’s not just the way he changed the world through CBN and the many ministries he was involved in; for me it’s personal.

Pat was the first person to believe in my father’s mission. He was the first one to host my father on a telethon which raised millions of dollars for Russian Jews to fly home to Israel, immediately after the Soviet Union fell. He was the first one to give The Fellowship a significant donation — $10,000 — when every penny was the difference between the organization surviving or not.

He was a friend to my father when others deserted him. He was a mentor and source of hope to me after my father died.

In following tradition, Pat’s incredible son, Gordon was the first person to host me on television after my father died. Gordon has taken so many difficult steps to care for his father and his father’s beloved ministry of CBN, and he even makes it look easy.

But I know it’s not.

Dearest friend, Gordon Robertson, everyone at IFCJ Canada supports you during this difficult time. We believe in your leadership and we know God has big plans for you.

Dr. Pat Robertson, thank you for your service and making this world such a better place to live. May your life inspire many to carry on in God’s way and your ways. Dr. Pat Robertson, your memory will always be a blessing.

With blessings from the Holy Land,
