Along with our partners on the ground, IFCJ Canada provided displaced families with gift cards (of about $1,725 CAD) to be used for the purchase of food, clothing, hygienic products, and other basic necessities. Many of these evacuees were forced to leave their communities with nothing more than the clothes on their backs to escape imminent danger. One of the families sent us this moving thank-you letter:

Greetings to The Fellowship,

We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your contribution and financial assistance during these difficult times.

We received the purchase card from The Fellowship, when we were evacuated, which allowed us to buy food. We greatly appreciate your assistance during this difficult time. We were very moved and encouraged by the gesture, and we feel that the donation helps us not only financially, but also emotionally. It was very pleasant to discover that there are wonderful people like you who help people in need and there is no doubt that it helped us overcome the difficulties and we came out strengthened.

It has already been 42 days that we’ve been out of our apartment, and we don’t know when we’ll return. Your concern warms our hearts.

We are very grateful!

We wish you lots of health and congratulations for your noble work.

Thank you,

Michael and Nadia
