Finally Home in the Holy Land
Tetiana remembers hearing stories as a young girl about how the Holocaust impacted her family. Her great-grandparents were murdered by the Nazis...
Nearly all of Tetiana’s relatives live in the Holy Land. Recently, she and her husband Ivan joined them in Israel after arriving on a Fellowship Freedom Flight from Ukraine.
Tetiana remembers hearing stories as a young girl about how the Holocaust impacted her family. Her great-grandparents were murdered by the Nazis, and her grandma evacuated to Uzbekistan. Even though her family suffered so much, the negative attitudes towards the Jewish people continued long after the Holocaust was over. Growing up in Ukraine, she remembers being called names for being Jewish. “It taught me how to stand up for myself and firmly stand my ground,” she says.
When Tetiana married in 2017, she started planning on making aliyah (immigration to Israel) with her new husband, and now they’ve arrived thanks to The Fellowship and our wonderful partners.
Tetiana will work in the field of early education and Ivan plans to work for a rehabilitation centre, as he has experience helping people who suffer with addiction.
