Katerina's Deepest Prayer

Yulia

Katerina’s deepest, darkest desire — her honest prayer to God — shook Rabbi Eckstein to his core...

Rabbi Eckstein has travelled to the former Soviet Union (FSU) many times — to deliver food, heating necessities, medicine and more on your behalf. Even after 20 years of ministry trips, he is still shocked by what he see and hears.

Rabbi Eckstein cannot forget Katerina or what she told him on his last trip. Katerina’s deepest, darkest desire— her honest prayer to God — shook him to his core.

The raw emotion on Katerina’s face is deeply intense, but difficult to express in words — watch now and see with your own eyes.

Katerina survived the Holocaust, only to face different enemies in the last years of her life: poverty, isolation, and loneliness.

The long, dark winter months are an even greater hardship for Katerina as she is forced to make impossible choices to survive — does she eat, does she pay for her medicine, or does she pay for heating?

No one should have to make this choice. That’s why The Fellowship is committed to providing winter essentials to the most vulnerable elderly in the FSU.

Thanks to you who is committed to blessing God’s people, we’re already at work, rushing this lifesaving care to elderly Jews just like Katerina.

It’s our prayer that together, we can continue to turn Katerina’s despair into hope by providing the lifesaving care and companionship we all need to survive.
