The Fellowship Prayer Team unites Jews and Christians around the world to raise a chorus of prayer to God for the care and support of Israel's people. By appealing to God on behalf of His children, the Prayer Team will make a powerful, positive impact.
July 10, 2018
On the evening of July 21, Jews around the world will begin commemorating Tisha B’Av, the holiday that marks the many tragedies that have befallen the Jewish people over the years most notably the destruction of the First and Second Temples. While it is a solemn day, it is not without hope, as they are reminded that their survival through so many difficult trials is a miracle from God Himself. May we remember God’s ability to redeem any situation as we lift these prayer requests to Him.
As the ongoing Syrian civil war moves closer and closer to Israel’s northern border, Israeli officials face threats from Syria-aligned Iran, even as they work to live up to their moral obligation to treat the throngs of injured at the Syrian-Israeli border. Pray that God would give Israel’s leadership the wisdom to deal with this complicated situation. “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you” (Psalm 32:8).
After heavy flooding and landslides, Japan is facing a long road to recovery with at least 122 people having lost their lives. Please pray for the families who are grieving for their loved ones after this devastation, and for the many people who are still missing, that the rescue teams will find them safely. “I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you” (Isaiah 46:4).
Praise God that the young soccer team trapped in an underwater cave in Thailand has been rescued. And praise God that innovation and technology from Israel has helped locate these precious boys. “I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him.” (1 Samuel 1:27).
Recently, minor earthquakes have occurred in northern Israel, near the Sea of Galilee. While no injuries have been reported, Fellowship volunteers have checked in on elderly and new olim (immigrants) in the affected areas. Pray to God that He will watch over his people, and protect them from any disasters, natural or otherwise. “Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the LORD will be at your side.” (Proverbs 3:25-26).
