Praying to Return Home to Israel

“While they hoped the war would end soon, the violence continues, and they dream of making aliyah (immigrating to Israel) with the help of The Fellowship…”

Levgeni, 31, his wife Iryna, 39, and their daughter Stefania, 2, decided to make aliyah (immigrate to Israel) from Ukraine because they believe they’ll be able to find peace and comfort.

“We’re really looking forward to starting our new life,” says Levgeni. “We’ve been counting the days to our Freedom Flight with The Fellowship.”

“Now is the right time to leave Ukraine,” he continues. “Our daughter Stefania is 2 years old. Soon she’ll enter nursery school where she’ll be able to easily adapt.”

While they didn’t live in an area affected by the war in Ukraine, they did notice when prices started rising and when many people started losing their jobs.

When the family heard about The Fellowship’s Freedom Flights, they decided to take a chance and start a new life in Israel. “We have friends who already made aliyah, and they recommended that we do it through The Fellowship,” Levgeni and Iryna recount. “They told us about the financial, informational, and moral support.

“Any time you move, it’s a serious step for everybody involved, but moving to a new country can sometimes be scary. Our friends told us that The Fellowship helped them feel more secure.”

“This will be our first time in Israel,” Levgeni says. “At first we plan to rest and soak up Israel’s spirit. We have lots of energy, and we’re ready to pass requalification courses, if necessary.” In Ukraine, it’s very difficult to find a well-paying job, but they know Israel pays its employees a wage they can live on.

And they know they will reconnect with their Jewish faith once they arrive in the Holy Land.

Iryna adds, “We still love Ukraine because it’s where we were born. We still have relatives and memories there. Hopefully, someday they’ll also move to Israel.”

Thanks to The Fellowship’s On Wings of Eagles Freedom Flight, the couple feels very blessed to begin a new life in Israel! They want to thank The Fellowship’s wonderful Canadian partners, like you, for helping them return home.

While Levgeni and his family cannot wait to begin their new lives, there are still many Jews wishing to escape war-torn Ukraine. By giving a Freedom Flight today, you can change the lives of these suffering families and bless all of Israel.
