“Thanks to The Fellowship, I Could Live”

A devastating experience forced Valerie to leave behind the only home he had...

He survived the ongoing civil war that broke out in 2014 and recalled his day-to-day experience living in fear.

“I could no longer work because of a heart condition,” Valerie, an elderly man from Kiev, Ukraine said.

He survived the ongoing civil war that broke out in 2014 and recalled his day-to-day experience living in fear. “Thanks to The Fellowship, I could live. I would go out to buy bread and hear the sound of shooting. I wouldn’t know who was shooting or why,” he said.

“My friends were in shock. The mother of one friend was shot in the head and he was also wounded. People were left without hands or feet. It is a situation that can only be described as chaos.” This devastating experience forced Valerie to leave behind the only home he had.

Having made aliyah aboard a recent Fellowship Freedom Flight, Valerie said, “I have a lot of relatives in Israel, so I feel that I will not be alone. I am going to live in Ramla. I have friends there. I do not have a drop of sadness in me. I feel like I am going home. The Israelis are warm people.”

Valerie would have been stuck in war-torn Ukraine if not for The Fellowship. “How could I do it without money? I wouldn't be able to do it,” he says, thanking The Fellowship, and you, our faithful partners. “You are excellent! Simply excellent.”
