Naomi: Preparing for Success

Print Bookmark

Naomi was ten years old when her parents rediscovered their Jewish roots. Living in Kiev, they found that it was extremely difficult to practice Judaism, where her father could not take a day off to celebrate the Sabbath.

When she was fourteen years old, her parents decided to move Israel where they would be free to lead a Jewish life.

Adapting to life in Israel was a challenge for Naomi's parents. Her father does not speak Hebrew which prevents him from finding work in his profession and her mother is physically handicapped and cannot work at all.

Despite their financial difficulties, Naomi is receiving the highest level of education and care with the help of the Guardians of Israel funded, Bat Zion High School. Bat Zion is a religious boarding school which provides Naomi with a loving, caring environment as well as all of her physical emotional and educational needs including food, housing, clothing, pocket money and medical services.

Naomi is thankful to the donors of Guardians of Israel who have funded Bat Zion, and have given her the tools she needs for a smooth transition in Israel. "This school is preparing me for a successful life in my new country," Naomi says. "My parents couldn't afford to send me here. I'm so grateful."

Please give generously today to Guardians of Israel today and help immigrants from the FSU grow and flourish in their new homes to become active and contributing members of Israeli society.
