As a young girl in Russia, Esther knew little about Judaism. At that point, religion simply was not a part of her family's life. But later on, her mother began to explore her Jewish roots. She grew in her faith, and began to see how important it was for Esther to do so as well. Esther's mother decided she needed to do everything she could to send her daughter to live in her biblical homeland -- Israel.
Esther was filled with joy when she was finally able to come to Israel as a teenager. But there have been challenges as well, because she made aliyah (immigrated to Israel) while her mother remained behind. Esther's mother misses her daughter greatly. Esther, too, acknowledges that adjusting to life on her own in Israel has been difficult.
Esther's mother is working to come to Israel as soon as she can. But in the meantime, fortunately for Esther, The Fellowship's Guardians of Israel program funds a high school for needy immigrant girls in Israel called Beit Ulpana. Beit Ulpana provides 200 students with room and board, individual attention and care, and an education geared towards preparing them for college.
Beit Ulpana has been a great blessing to Esther, and has helped her truly feel at home in Israel. "Life is much different in Israel than it is in Russia. The people seem happier here. They seem to care about one another," she says. "It's very generous of Christians to donate money to The Fellowship's Guardians of Israel program. It's so important to us. Thank you for making our new lives possible," Esther states.
You can help Esther and others live a life of promise and hope through your generous donation today to Guardians of Israel. Please give today - and help dreams come true.
