Israel Rising from the Ashes

Dear Pastor and Friend of The Fellowship,

It is with great sadness that I write to you today. As the smoke clears from the some of the deadly fires in northern Israel, the scope of the tragedy is becoming more evident to all — it is truly great and much more than we first feared.

Many Israelis who were evacuated from the fire area are returning to homes that are little more than piles of ashes. We are already receiving heartbreaking stories — like that of a Fellowship-funded orphanage, Yemin Orde, hit hard by the blaze. Here, more than 500 orphaned children have once again experienced the trauma of being left without a home.

Sadly, we'll see these tragic plights again and again as the lives of thousands of people in northern Israel have been changed forever because of this fire. These desperate people are calling out for emergency aid — and I pray that you and your congregation will help us provide it.

The Fellowship has been on the ground in the fire-stricken areas since day one, and we are committed to remaining until these needs are met. Your congregation can be part of this vital effort by taking a special offering or making a donation as a church to Guardians of Israel. Your prayers for the people of Israel and their recovery are coveted as well.

May God bless you and your congregation as you have blessed His children in their hour of need. "The Lord will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on her ruins" (Isaiah 51:3).
