Yael's Holy Land Reflections

Reasons for Hope

Reasons for Hope

January 27, 2022

This International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember the six million Jewish lives lost during the Holocaust. But despite anti-Semitism again growing around the world, Yael writes at The Washington Examiner that, for the first time in their history, the Jewish people have two reasons for hope:

The first difference is that today, we have the state of Israel. For the first time in 2,000 years, the Jewish people live as an independent nation in our homeland. The establishment of Israel in 1948 was a game-changer for the Jewish people. We have a place of refuge, a strong economy and innovative technology, and we are making great contributions to the global community.

The second difference today is that, for the first time in history, the Jewish people have friends. There are millions of friends around the world who not only hold Israel in their hearts, but love Israel’s people and work in so many ways to provide them with dignity and survival.

With blessings from the Holy Land,
