A Healthy and Delicious Shabbat

Shalom,

A couple of years ago, I tried to make our Shabbat desert a little healthier, so I used some special tricks. The truth is, these chocolate chip cookies came out even more delicious than ever!

These are the ‘tweaks to the recipe’ I made:
  • –I used spelt flour instead of white flour
  • –I used one soft avocado and 1 cup of canola oil instead of 2 cups of butter
(avocado makes the cookies creamy like butter and you don't taste the flavour at all)
  • –I used natural brown sugar instead of white sugar

I also added a few drops of peppermint oil to the finished batter.

We were all licking our fingers; the cookies are soft, moist, and there is no trace of the healthy switches I made. Try it at home! Remember you can always find more great tricks, flavours, and recipes in my cookbook Spiritual Cooking with Yael. Purchase here: http://amzn.to/1Q010i5

With blessings from the Holy Land,
Yael
