The Fellowship’s Menorah Candle-Lighting Events

Throughout the eight days of Hanukkah, The Fellowship will light a special “traveling” menorah each night in a different city.

A menorah specially designed for The Fellowship will be lit in a different location each evening among different groups of people who represent those who The Fellowship supports year around.

Over the eight days of Hanukkah, which began at sundown last night, The Fellowship menorah will shine its light on several of The Fellowship’s programs, including those that help children, the elderly, social workers, olim (immigrants), Ethiopian youth, and Jews in the former Soviet Union (FSU).

• DAY 1: Sunday, Dec. 6 with a children’s group in Sderot. Yael Amar, Director of Programs from The Fellowship’s Jerusalem office, will light the first candle.
• DAY 2: Monday, Dec. 7 with the elderly in Acco, Yael Eckstein will light the second candle.
• DAY 3: Tuesday, Dec. 8 with social workers and aliyah workers in Ramle, Jeff Kaye, from The Fellowship’s Jerusalem office, will light the third candle.
• DAY 4: Wednesday, Dec. 9 with Yehudai Border Police in Jerusalem, Rabbi Eckstein will light the fourth candle.
• DAY 5: Thursday, Dec. 10 with Ethiopian youth in Netanya, Rabbi Eckstein will light the fifth candle.
• DAY 6: Friday, Dec. 11 with FSU Jews in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminetsky will light the sixth candle.
• DAY 7: Saturday, Dec. 12 with olim (immigrants) living in Bat Yam, Jeff Kaye, from The Fellowship’s Jerusalem office, will light the seventh candle.
• DAY 8: Sunday, Dec. 13 at a ceremony saluting all Fellowship partners in Tel Aviv. Rabbi Eckstein will light the eighth and final candle.
